“Empower’s Massage Therapists reflect our dedication to helping you achieve a healthy, balanced life.”

Kerri Williamson, LMBT
NC License No. 8703

Kerri is an experienced massage therapist that has worked in many different environments. She began by working with chiropractors and with referrals from acupuncturists in Charlotte, NC and led chair-events at local businesses. Before joining the Empower team in 2011 she was practicing in a clinical environment in Chapel Hill, NC, working with a people of all ages and health conditions. She also volunteers with Miracle Mondays at Duke Children’s Hospital.

Kerri’s practice as a bodywork therapist is largely informed by the many alternative health modalities that support the individual into an authentic embodied state, believing that this way of life is the most optimal for health and happiness. She believes in the power of conscious touch and that many issues in women’s health can be transformed into positive experiences. By integrating reproductive health, the wisdom of the body, and finding the true story of the body, we can become happier, healthier people. She believes that we need good work that feels good; that bodywork doesn’t have to be torture to re-pattern.

Originally influenced by Feldenkrais, Rubenfeld, Polarity Therapy, and Yoga, Kerri’s studies include Arvigo Technique of Maya Abdominal Therapy, Fascial Release Technique, and Swedish; she is also certified in Prenatal and Postpartum Massage. In addition to holding a BA from UNC Wilmington in Art History, she graduated the nationally acclaimed Body Therapy Institute in 2008, where she began her life as a massage therapist. She is a professional member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).

A firm advocate of food, Kerri helped start an organic farmer’s market in Charlotte a few years ago and continues to learn about growing delicious green things. Her greatest pleasures are in the kitchen and in the garden with her son, Kaleb and her husband, John Williford.
