Empower Personal Training
Upcoming Charity Event
My name is Ronda Michaels, and I am co-owner of Empower Personal Training. I have been deeply touched as we plan our upcoming Empower Fitness Fair on April 18, 2009. We are donating all the proceeds from this event to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of our client and friend Joanne Roberts. At Empower we believe that giving back to the community is an important component of our vision to inspire people to live longer, healthier and happier lives.
While planning this event has been a challenge, it is nothing compared to what a person with MS lives with on a daily basis. It stops people from moving and chips away at one’s physical health. It can be progressive in nature and can ultimately lead to a very debilitated state. Managing MS is an ongoing process for the individual, their families and their caregivers.
This year we were drawn to the MS Society because we saw our client and friend Joanne work so hard at maintaining her physical health even while the disease took its toll. She realized the importance of exercise to help manage her symptoms and even after a long day at work she would ask her husband or one of her caregivers to help her onto the elliptical or bike. She came to Empower Personal Training one day/week to work with me on strength and range of motion exercises. She never gave up!
Please join us on April 18 for the Empower Fitness Fair as we honor Joanne’s memory and raise money to help those that are affected by this horrible disease.
